Preventative Measures (Learn more at CDC Prevention)

  • Wash your hands with soap routinely for at least 20 seconds, especially after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing
  • Avoid crowded public places or mass gatherings
  • Stay home if you’re sick unless you need to get medical care 
  • Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze to avoid spreading 
  • Wear a face mask only if you’re sick to avoid its spread when coughing or sneezing 
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily, including tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets and sinks. If using an alcohol solution, make sure it contains at least 70% alcohol. 
  • The CDC recommends hand sanitizers with at least 60% alcohol for use. If soap is unavailable, these hand sanitizers can serve as a replacement

  • Call your doctor and health care provider immediately if you develop symptoms 
  • Stay home, avoid public transportation and public areas 
  • Limit contact with people, pets and animals
  • Avoid sharing personal household items or wash thoroughly after use
  • Monitor your symptoms
