Anita Malik for Arizona CD-06 Receives “Gun Sense Candidate Distinction”
from Moms Demand Action
Anita Malik for Arizona is proud to announce her campaign has been recognized by Moms Demand Action with “Gun Sense Candidate Distinction” for her unflinching support for gun safety. Malik is running for Congress in Arizona’s 6th Congressional District.
“This recognition from a grassroots organization like Moms Demand Action means everything to me,” said Malik. “As the mom of two boys, gun safety is something I care about as a parent and a concerned citizen. I believe we must act to ensure our children are safe, including universal background checks and a ban on deadly bump stocks like we saw used in Las Vegas. We can protect the rights of hunters and gun owners while still taking common sense steps to ensure public safety.”
Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for new and stronger solutions to lax gun laws and loopholes. Since its inception after the tragedy at Sandy Hook School, Moms Demand Action has established a chapter in every state of the country and, along with Mayors Against Illegal Guns and the Everytown Survivor Network, is part of Everytown for Gun Safety, the largest gun violence prevention organization in the country with more than four million supporters.
Anita Malik is running for Congress because she wants to create the economy of the future and rebuild the American Dream for all of us. A tech entrepreneur and local businesswoman with a passion for health care policy and healthy workplaces, Anita is a first-generation American whose parents immigrated from India. She attended Scottsdale public schools and graduated from Arizona State University with degrees in finance and computer science. She and her husband live in Scottsdale with their two boys and two dogs.
